The German bookseller and publisher Gerhard Lang is celebrated as the inventor of the modern Advent calendar, having presented the first printed calendar with 24 small stickers on cardboard in 1904 – an idea that originated with his mother. As early as the 19th century, parents in Germany shortened the waiting time until Christmas by drawing chalk marks on the wall or lighting candles.
With this advent calendar from the southern German manufacturer Holla und Hui, you can bring a smile to your loved ones' faces every day and make the Christmas season even more magical!
You will receive 24 bags for self-filling, 24 number stickers and 5 m of string for fastening.
Note: In Germany, Christmas is celebrated on December 24th. Therefore, a typical German Advent calendar has 24 doors, not 25. If you celebrate Christmas on December 25th, simply think of something special for that day. You could, for example, light a special candle.
